Saffuriyya (Sepphoris) From 1918 until 1948

	In 1918, British army enter Palestine.
	In 1920, Palestine under British mandate.
	A local council was established in 1923 to manage the local affairs of the town.
	During 1920s, two schools were founded, one for boys and one for girls.
	Excavations were done in 1931 by the University of Michigan, this mission was led by Leroy Waterman.
	In 1931, the population of Saffuriyya (Sepphoris) was 3,147, and the number of houses was 747.
	During 1936 – 1939 revolution, many Saffouriyans actively participated in.
	In 1945, the population of Saffuriyya (Sepphoris) was 4,330 (4,320 Muslims, 10 Christians).
	In 1947, a new girls school was founded.
